Haute Route events are well known amongst the cycling community and are nothing to be scoffed at. It takes some serious training and dedication, particularly if you want to tackle the 7 day event. We had the pleasure of speaking with Mike Foster who recently raced (or rode) Haute Route Pyrenees with his brother David. Above: Mike and David beginning a descent SPOKEN: Haute Route Pyrenees, that’s a long way to travel from Sydney, Australia for a bike ride what made you want to do this event? New Zealand is one of the most picturesque, clean & green countries in the world. The BDO Tour of Northland makes its way through the top of the North Island and some of the most beautiful landscape the country has to offer. The Tour starts in Whangarei, a 2 hour drive from New Zealand's largest city, Auckland. The Tour spans four days and four stages, with distances ranging from 83km to 104km. This winds its way from Whangarei up to Russell in the Bay of Islands, then West to Hokianga before heading South to Dargaville and back on to Whangarei. If...

ToF Background Following the 1998 Asian Games which were based in Bangkok, Madame Titaree Tanakorn decided to organise a new cycling tour with support of 40 commissaries. First named the Anti...

SS: I’ve been cycling about 12 years, I was a runner first like so many of us. I tried a triathlon after my sister persuaded me to do so. I did not really enjoy the swim...
